How fees work
What you pay depends on who pays. Each answer is here in plain words, and the front desk goes through yours before your first visit.
Insurance we work with
We bill the claim or plan that covers your care, and tell you before your first visit whether we are in network. The list is by type of plan, not by company. The front desk checks your card or your claim.
Workers' compensation claims
Auto medical coverage
Most PPO and employer health plans
Employer-paid programs, under a written scope
If you pay yourself
If you pay yourself, or your employer pays for a program or a test, the fee depends on how long the sessions are and what is measured. We tell you the fee in writing before you book.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, we give you a written estimate before your first visit: what we expect care to cost and what it includes. This is your right under federal law. If a bill comes in $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it.
Checking your benefits
Our front desk confirms who is authorized to direct and pay for care, checks your plan and calls you with what they find, before your first visit. For a work injury we also confirm the claim number with your adjuster.
What the first visit includes
Your first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist. They listen, examine you, go through the job's demands and agree on a plan with you. They explain the risks and the choices.
Questions about paying
What if my claim is denied?
We tell you right away, and you choose what to do next. We can talk to your adjuster, or you can pay yourself with a written estimate first.
Can I get a receipt for my plan?
Yes. We give you an itemized receipt on request. Your plan may or may not reimburse you.
Do you offer reduced fees?
Ask the front desk. We have a small number of reduced-fee places, and we tell you how they work.
Want to know what you would pay?
Call the front desk. We check your claim or plan and call you back with what we find.
