Questions

What people ask before they come

Do I need a referral?

In Kansas, you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one. A work injury claim is different: the adjuster or doctor usually has to authorize care first, and your plan may still ask for one. We confirm before your first visit.

Does my plan cover this, and do you take workers' compensation?

We bill workers' compensation claims, auto medical coverage and most PPO plans. We check your card or your claim before the first visit and call you with what we find.

What if I pay myself?

You get a written estimate before your first visit, and we tell you the fee in writing before you book. See how fees work for the details.

How long is a visit, and who treats me?

A first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist. Later visits are set by your plan, and a physical therapist assistant may lead part of a session under the therapist's direction.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your doctor's orders, the demands of your job, how your body responds and what your claim authorizes. Your therapist updates the plan as you go and tells you what to expect.

What should I wear and bring?

Clothes you can move in and closed shoes. Bring your claim number, a job description if you have one, and any orders or restrictions from your doctor.

Will it hurt?

We work within what you can tolerate and tell you what to expect before each new step. Tell your therapist right away if something feels wrong.

Do you offer virtual visits?

Some check-ins can be by video for people in Kansas, where we are licensed. Testing, conditioning and hardening are in person.

What about work or auto injuries?

Tell us who your adjuster is. Your state decides who may direct your care. We treat you and write the reports; we do not handle your claim.

What is the difference between work conditioning and work hardening?

Conditioning builds general capacity for a job. Hardening practices the real tasks of the job, in longer blocks that grow toward a full shift. Your therapist and doctor choose with you.
